WHEN WOULD FRESH STOOL SPECIMENS BE REQUIRED FOR TESTING?

If the laboratory selects stool screen reagents that test for the Entamoeba histolytica/E. dispar group or specifically E. histolytica, these test formats require the use of fresh or frozen stool specimens; formalinized stool is not acceptable.
