Immunodiffusion plates with two types of gelling agents are available; Cleargel™ and Agarose. Both types of gels contain precipitin brighteners (e.g. chemicals which reduce the solubility of immuno complexes) and diffusion enhancers (e.g. osmotic buffers which speed the well-to-gel transition).

Cleargel™ Immunodiffusion Plates
 
In order to overcome the inherently opaque appearance of agarose immunodiffusion plates, IMMY has developed Cleargel™. Cleargel™ is a proprietary gelling agent which produces an ultra-clear gel structure for easy visualization of precipitin bands from most species except rabbit.
